First order for Nordex N90 / 2500 in China
Successful market launch of the large turbine series in the Far East
10.04.2012/90/2500 - Hamburg - The turbine manufacturer Nordex has received its first commercial order for the N2011 / 2,5 from China. It was not until autumn XNUMX that the company started selling its large-scale system series in the Far East. Since then, Nordex has been preparing to convert its Chinese plants to production of the XNUMX MW platform.
The client is the power plant operator Zhongmin Wind Power, a subsidiary of the Fujian Investment Group. The state-owned company is developing and operating various infrastructure projects and plans to bring 1.000 MW's new wind farm capacity online over the next five years.
The 30 MW wind farm will be equipped with N90 / 2500 turbines and will be built near the coast near Zhongcuo. Average wind speeds of 8,4 m / s prevail here. The park will be completed by the end of the year at 2012.
In 2011, China was the largest wind market in the world. Around 40% of the new international facilities were built here. These turbines had an average nominal output of around 1,5 MW. "With our new product range for Asia, we are opening up a segment that is in high demand in China and cannot yet be offered by all competitors," says Lars Bondo Krogsgaard, the Nordex SE board member responsible for sales.
