Nordex receives new orders for 55 MW: British customer chooses Nordex for five wind farmsMay 14.05.2012, 22 Hamburg - New business at Nordex continues to develop positively. The wind turbine manufacturer has now won five new orders in the important UK market. Since the beginning of the year, the Infinis Group has ordered a total of 80 high-wind turbines of the N2500 / 90 and N2500 / 1 series for various wind farms. Nordex had already booked eleven of the turbines as firm incoming orders in the first quarter of 2012, and orders for a further eleven turbines followed in May.

In Scotland, five N80 turbines are used in the Gordonstown Hill wind farm and five N90 turbines are used in the Westfield Windfarm. In England, Nordex is installing a further twelve 2,5 MW turbines distributed among the projects “Blackstone Edge”, “Tedder Hill” and “Wingates Windfarm”. Construction of the projects will begin this year, and by March 2013 at the latest, all 22 systems are to feed clean electricity into the grid.

Infinis already operates 12 N90 / 2500 turbines at the Lissett Airfield wind farm, which Nordex 2008 has built. In the UK and Ireland, Nordex will exceed the 1 GW installed capacity mark this year, underscoring its strong position in this core market.

"We are delighted that Infinis, one of the largest operators of renewable power plants in Great Britain, has chosen our plant technology," said Lars Bondo Krogsgaard, Director of Sales, Service and Project Management at Nordex SE.
