High purity copper ingot
High purity copper ingot
High purity (6N) 99,9999% copper metal is produced in wire, rods, shot, pellets, sputtering targets, wafers, and many other shapes. 6N copper wires are widely used for superconducting MR magnets in medical devices, synchrotrons, cryogenic systems, and in the high-voltage cable electronics industry. High purity medical copper is also used in the metal joining and medical engineering industries. High purity copper wire, shot, pellets, and rods are important precursor materials for the synthesis of advanced materials, including compound semiconductors such as copper-indium-gallium-selenide (CIGS) and copper-zinc-tin-sulfide (CZTS), which are useful for solar cells, superconducting ceramics, e.g. Yttrium barium copper oxide (YBCO) and lanthanum strontium copper oxide, as well as other copper-containing nanomaterials.
