Great Western Minerals: Steenkampskraal Shaft Rehabilitation Runs To Plan

Great Western Minerals (CVE: GWG, OTC: GWMGF, FFT: GWM) said refurbishment of the former producing shaft at the Steenkampskraal Rare Earth Project in South Africa is making good progress and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2011.

Company boss Jim Engdahl said: "The work is going exactly according to plan and the shaft renovation will be completed by the end of the year."

Great Western plans to commence underground operations in the first quarter of 2012.

In April, the company increased the planned production rate of 2.700 to 5.000 tonnes of rare earth oxides.

The company strives to be a full-time producer of rare earths by the beginning of 2013 at the latest.
