Great Western Minerals Selects Subcontractor For Steenkampskraal Drilling Program

Great Western Minerals (CVE: GWG, OTC: GWMGF, FFT: GWM) has hired Drillcorp Africa (Pty) Ltd as a subcontractor for the proposed drilling program at the Steenkampskraal Rare Earth Project in South Africa.

The drill program is expected to expand the project's resource by mid-September and support ongoing work on the first NI43-101-compliant resource estimate by providing new geological data.

Great Western Minerals announced last week that the rehabilitation of the former producing shaft on Steenkampskraal is making good progress and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2011.

The company plans to commence underground operations in the first quarter of 2012.
In April, the company increased the planned production rate of 2.700 to 5.000 tonnes of rare earth oxides.

The company strives to be a full-time producer of rare earths by the beginning of 2013 at the latest.
