Lynas Malaysia receives the Occupational Health and Safety Award of the Gold class

Lynas Malaysia's continued commitment to the highest standards of occupational safety and health was awarded Gold Medal by the Malaysian Society for Safety and Health at Work (MSOSH).

After a strict examination procedure, Lynas was awarded the "MSOSH OSH GOLD CLASS 2 AWARD WINNER FOR 2018" in the Manufacturing & Chemical Sectors category. The award was presented on August 1, 2019 at the One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya, by the Honorable Minister of Personnel M. Kulasegaran. Mohd Nawayi, Safety and Health Manager, accepted the award on behalf of Lynas Malaysia.

Commenting on the award, Mimi Afzan Afza, Lynas' Vice President for People and Culture commented: "This award is a great achievement for our company and for our employees, who are working hard every day to establish Lynas Malaysia as a safe workplace that we are sure for our local communities and the environment.

"At Lynas Malaysia, we value safety and health on a daily basis and are very proud that our safe working environment and excellent working conditions are recognized by this award. We recently announced that we had been working injury-free for a year. This award is another achievement for our employees. "

The MSOSH OSH Award Program was launched in 1982. The annual MSOSH Awards are designed to recognize all organizations that achieve recognized safety and health standards and have improved occupational health and safety through robust safety and health management systems.

Enterprises are subjected to rigorous document and site verification by an MSOSH panel of qualified and dedicated auditors to be considered for awards by the MSOSH Technical Committee. The MSOSH OSH Award examiners include representatives of the Ministry of Health and Safety at Work (DOSH); Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial (PERKESO); Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH); National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH); SIRIM Berhad; Malaysian Employers' Federation (MEF); and Federation of Malaysia Manufacturers (FMM).

MSOSH congratulated Lynas's dedicated staff on successfully achieving this prestigious award and expressed its confidence that Lynas will continue to meet the high level of safety and health at our sites. MSOSH also expressed its hope and desire that the achievements of Lynas Malaysia encourage others to proactively manage safety and health programs in their respective companies.
