Excelsior will deliver the first copper production from Arizona by the end of the year.

Excelsior Mining (TSX: MIN) has just completed a pipeline corridor on the Gunnison copper project in southern Arizona, so the company is on track to deliver its first copper production to 2019 in the fourth quarter.

The construction of the two-mile, high-density polyethylene pipeline corridor connecting the Johnson Camp Mine's processing plant to the production field began in January.

"We are now more than 90% complete for the entire construction process and we look forward to completing the rest of the elements in the next month," said Stephen Twyerould, CEO and President of Excelsior, in a press release.

The 9.560-acre Gunnison Project hosts the North Star deposit, which, according to Excelsior, contains a measured and indicated 4,99 billion pound copper resource.

24 is expected to produce billions of pounds of pure copper cathode over its 2,2 lifetime.

Zambian court suspends KCM final hearing pending an appeal.

Zambia's Supreme Court suspended hearings on Tuesday about the liquidation of Vedanta Resources' local mining business until the appeals court decides on the lower court's refusal to refer the matter to the arbitral tribunal, the provisional liquidator said.

Vedanta has been involved in a dispute with the Zambian government since May when Lusaka appointed a liquidator for the operation of the Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) owned by the Zambian State Mining Company ZNMX and the rest of Vedanta at 20%.

Legal arguments were made in both Zambia and South Africa.

"Judge Banda ruled that it was in the interests of justice to keep the petition heard despite not believing the likelihood of Vedanta's appeal," Milingo Lungu said in a statement.

On the 7. In August, the Lusaka Supreme Court dismissed Vedanta's application for cessation of the Zambian government's liquidation proceedings against KCM.

On Friday, however, a South African Supreme Court judge ruled in favor of Vedanta when he refused to refuse ZCCM leave to appeal against a previous ruling by the South African courts suspending the sale of KCM until arbitration.

In response to the Lusaka Supreme Court ruling on Tuesday, Vedanta said in an email comment that it remains "committed to working with the Zambian government to find an amicable solution".

Quaterra, Chuchuna explore Alaska copper-gold perspective

Quaterra Resources (TSXV: QTA) and Chuchuna Minerals announced the launch of an 1.500 kilometer ZTEM geophysical survey of their Alaska copper-gold potential.

In a press release, both companies said that Geotech of Ontario is responsible for conducting the survey and that a Chuchuna ground crew is also at the site performing geological mapping, prospecting and sampling.
According to the miners, helicopter surveying is designed to better define drill targets and to understand how they relate to those identified in previous geophysical and geological work. It is also expected to provide close geophysical data over most of the groundwood property.

The field work, on the other hand, is intended to continue detailed mapping, locate new rock exposures, track past work, and generate new subterranean data for exploration of copper-gold porphyry.

"Both programs are important components in identifying high-level targets for a drilling program planned for next year," said the media letter.

Marmot is a 40.000-hectare property located on an established copper-gold porphyry belt 300 kilometers southwest of Anchorage.

It lies about 5 kilometers north of the Pebble porphyry copper, gold and molybdenum project in the Northern Dynasty.

"Regional magnetic data indicate that the geological structure, similar to that of Pebble, extends an additional 30 kilometers northeast of the gravel deposit under protection," reports Quaterra.
